Building a Park for Everyone: Dix Park
Rob Maddrey, the Vice President of Development for Dix Park Conservancy in Raleigh, will discuss the vision of creating American’s next great park, its complex, multi-layered legacies, and the exciting future of Dix Park and its impact on Raleigh and the region.
Rob Maddrey originally was in marketing and fundraising with the North Carolina Symphony and Preservation North Carolina. He began his nonprofit career as the first executive director of ARTS North Carolina in 1986. He came to the Conservancy in 2022 from the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits, where for seven years he was its chief sustainability officer. Rob is the treasurer of the AFP Triangle Chapter.
A lifelong choral musician, he has sung tenor with the choir of the Church of the Good Shepherd, the Oakwood Waits, and the North Carolina Master Chorale, where he twice served as its board chair. He is married to Mark Tulbert, Director of Arts Marketing at NC State University.
