The Sudden, Dramatic Change in Acceptance of LGBT People
What happened in the twentieth century to liberate LGBT people? Two movements in the West’s intellectual development made acceptance possible in the public mind, namely, (1) the decline of a natural law understanding of humans, and (2) the movement called postmodernism. Dr. Prust will broaden your understanding of each of these.
The Rev. Dr. Richard Prust was educated at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Yale, and Duke. He is a recently retired (Distinguished) Professor of Philosophy at St. Andrews University in Laurinburg (he remains active in the International Forum on Persons). His field is personal identity issues, and he is working on a book on personal identity in moral and legal discourse.
