Gay Pornography and the Space of Gay History II
Dr. Richard Cante has explored with us how film and video have interacted with gay culture; this presentation will try to make sense of how the media has reacted as the internet exploded into being — and to some extent how this affects us today.
Dr. Cante was our speaker in September, where his presentation generated so much interest and involvement that there wasn’t enough time to cover all of the topic. He is still the new Director of the Program in Sexuality Studies at UNC-CH, and he is still currently looking at the cultural re-mapping of relations between ethics, aesthetics and politics since the mid-1990s, with particular attention to the complicated involvement of the media.
