Jennifer Knox and the Helms Family

Our presenter on January 31 (rescheduled from the 24th), Jennifer Knox, is a native of Raleigh. She was educated at Hale High School (now St. David’s School) and Wingate University, and she received her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Since her graduation from UNC, Jennifer has worked in the court system, first as an Assistant District Attorney for four years, a District Court Judge for 10 years, and now as the Wake County Clerk of Superior Court. Jennifer’s grandfather was United States Senator Jesse Helms. She lives in Raleigh with her wife, Shields Carstarphen, and their two children, Cooper and Alex.

Jennifer will speak about her experiences in the court system and in politics, both personally and professionally, and what it was like growing up with a notorious grandfather.
