North Carolina and LGBT Rights: How Far Have We Come?

Tom Jensen is going to discuss findings of a survey the Public Policy Polling organization just conducted on how North Carolinians view various LGBT issues. He will also be happy to more broadly discuss what we’re finding in the North Carolina and national political climates.

Tom Jensen 2018Mr. Jensen has been the Director of Public Policy Polling since 2007. During that time, he has overseen thousands of polling projects, covering everything from Presidential and Senate races to County Commissioner and School Board races all over the country. He is the voice behind PPP’s popular Twitter account, which has more than 100,000 followers. In 2016 he was named by Rolling Stone as 1 of 16 Young Americans Shaping the 2016 Election, and after correctly predicting the winner of every state in the 2012 Presidential election, he was named by Business Insider as one of the 36 most powerful people in American politics. He has also been honored by Campaigns and Elections magazine as one of its ‘Rising Stars’ working in the industry. He is a popular public speaker, often presenting to business groups, universities, and other community organizations as well as a frequent expert commentator for TV, radio, and other news organizations. A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, he is an honors graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill.
